2004 St. Olaf Regents

The following individuals were serving on the St. Olaf College Board of Regents in 2004, when the sale of the WCAL charitable trust assets was voted on "unanimously, with one abstention".

The abstention has been confirmed as that of Regent Addison (Tad) Piper, who had multiple documented conflicts of interest regarding the sale at the time of the vote. Despite these conflicts of interest, he was publicly identified by senior St. Olaf College administrators as being instrumental in the sale process itself.

According to the research that SaveWCAL has done, the St. Olaf College Board of Regents in 2004 were:

** It is not known if the Senior (Emeritii) Regents are voting members of the Regents. What is known is that Senior Regent Leonard Hoeft — one of St. Olaf College's most generous donors as well as one of the most generous donors to the WCAL charitable trust in the history of the station — was neither informed of the plan to sell the station and was neither informed of nor invited to the board meeting where and when the vote took place.

A listing of the current St. Olaf College Board of Regents can be found on the St. Olaf College web site.
